January Press Release

Over 50% of the stand space booked at Healthcare Estates Exhibition 2012

Healthcare Estates in 2011 saw over 2,600 attendees to the event to network with more than 170 exhibitors and 300 delegates and speakers who attended the IHEEM conference providing a great array of information, contacts and experiences.

And 2012 is set to build on this, Healthcare Estates 2012 takes place on the 9th and 10th October at Manchester Central (GMEX), the exhibition organised by Step Exhibitions and IHEEM runs alongside the IHEEM conference and is FREE to attend.

Healthcare Estates 2012 will see the return of key suppliers to the sector including Beacon Medaes, Britplas, Cistermiser, Courtney-Thorne Call Systems, Fendor Ltd., Gent by Honeywell, Heatrae Sadia, Kemper UK, Procure 21+, Shire Controls, Spirax Sarco, Honeywell Building Solutions and Zip Heaters.

Steve Webb, Show Director said; ‘This will be our third year in Manchester, following the move from Harrogate. We have continued to develop the event, and last year (2011) saw a growth in our visitor numbers, with many expressing ‘the need to see and hear about the latest developments taking place in the healthcare sector’ as their main reason for attending.’

Manchester Central (GMEX) proved to be popular too. Exhibitors and visitors alike commented on the ease of navigation, the standard of facilities at the newly refurbished centre and the layout of the event being easy to navigate ensuring visitors had plenty of time to meet with exhibitors.

Despite the UK economy being in recession, Healthcare remains a key government priority with the government spending review in 2010 protecting the NHS budget, making Healthcare Estates, the only event totally dedicated to this important sector, a priority for many NHS decision makers, and an ideal opportunity to meet with key manufacturers and suppliers.

2012 is another landmark year with Healthcare Estates celebrating its 10th birthday. The exhibition has two new areas; these include the Contractors & Architect zone and the Estate Management & Consultants area in addition to key areas on Energy & Sustainability, our Focus on FM Showcases and New Product Showcase.

The Construction & Architects Area will have content presented and organised by construction and architecture professionals over both days of the exhibition. The area will be interactive with a variety of presentations and opportunities to engage with some of the key names in the healthcare sector. Topics potentially being covered include: What is the future for the private finance initiative, New mechanisms for bringing private investment into the UK’s public sector, How to get your product/service specified, Frameworks and Refurbishment & making fit for purpose current facilities/estates.

The Estate Management & Consultants Area has been requested to allow IHEEM’s estate management members and other leading individuals within the market to engage on a series of round tables and networking lunch time sessions, topics discussed include: Estate rationalisation, How estates integrate with the trusts, Transformation change – optimising space and Strategic asset management.

The 2012 event will continue our theme of ‘Improving outcomes through innovation’, allowing visitors to gain a real insight into a variety of topics.
