Biography

My career began in the hospitality industry where I ran a successful business for a number of years.  It was through this experience that I developed my passion to share my knowledge and skills with others, this lead to my appointment as a lecturer and programme manager in Hospitality Management within the further and higher education sector.  I have now spent nearly thirty years in education in various roles from Lecturer to Learning and Development Manager in the private and public sector, and the past thirteen years working within the NHS.

I am the lead for all Apprenticeship provision across the organisation which includes the development of the team to ensure that they are all conversant with changes in polices and the new landscape linked to trailblazers, standards, gateway assessment and end point assessment. I pride myself on leading a team who are quality driven, which is highlighted in our OfSted ‘Outstanding’ grade, Skills for Health Quality Mark, MATRIX accreditation and Awarding Body reports.

I am highly experienced in learning and development; I graduated from Nottingham University with a BA (Hons) in Education Management.   I also have several role specific qualifications including IFL membership, various psychometric testing and development tools e.g. Myers Briggs Type Indicator, NHS Healthcare Leadership Model 360 facilitator and a certified Practitioner of NLP.

I have a creative flair and a passion for innovative and developmental programme design and commissioning I am highly committed and enthusiastic about learning and the development of others. I am registered as a member of The Institute for Learning (IfL) and I have achieved Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status.
