Meet the 2023 Awards Judges

Claire Hennessy

Claire is Estates & Facilities Director for Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Chair of the IHEEM Conference Committee. She is a qualified Building Services Engineer with an in-depth knowledge of NHS engineering management and compliance and is a fellow of IHEEM. Claire leads an estates and facilities team of approx. 229 staff across a large number of community healthcare properties.

Adrian Eggleton

Adrian is an Architect and a Social Scientist with over 25 years’ experience of working in and supporting the NHS. He has academic, service planning, capital and operational experience across all healthcare sectors, most recently in the role of National Estates Operational Lead at NHS England for: Soft FM; Hard FM; Engagement; Estates EPRR; Data; Estate Digitalisation; RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete); COVID-19; and the Oxygen Infrastructure Programme. He’s passionate about people, safety and the patients we serve.

Duane Passman

Duane, originally an Astrophysicist, is an experienced NHS Programme and Project Director who has worked on major investment programmes and projects in the NHS for almost 35 years utilising public funding and PFI. He has worked on some of the largest projects in the NHS, being directly involved in well over £1 billion of investment to date. He has also spent some time as a management consultant in the private sector.

Kim Shelley

Kim is the current Joint Chair of the IHEEM Diversity & Inclusion committee, dedicated to creating an inclusion culture within the healthcare engineering and estates management sector. As Director at ETA Projects, Kim has full responsibility for ISO Compliance and Quality Control, Project Financial Management, Client Liaison, Business Strategy and HR. Since joining the business in 2008, Kim has utilised her management, communication and organisational skills to introduce many key iniatives which now underpin ETA Projects as a key provider in M&E Consultancy and Design Services.

Duncan Sissons

Duncan is a Chartered Surveyor and Project Manager who has been involved in delivering healthcare capital projects since the early 1980’s and is passionate about improving the health of the nation. He has a wealth of experience during all stages of a project lifecycle from inception to post occupancy but more recently has been involved in strategic decision making.

Phil Wade

Phil’s sector expertise stems from a 40+ year career in healthcare engineering and estates and facilities, most recently as Sales & Marketing Director at SSG (formerly Static Systems Group). He advises and support a number of businesses and organisations on healthcare engineering and estates and facilities, focussing on business development, marketing services, sales management, coaching & mentoring and strategy development.
