Environmental Essentials is a leading asbestos risk management company, providing practical, cost-effective management, consultancy and training services. 


Extensive experience with large NHS trusts means we are used to working with patients, visitors and staff on wards, in labs and in offices to ensure asbestos monitoring and management does not disrupt continuity of care. 


Our team recently completed a nine-year project for Betsi Cadwaladr University (BCU) Health Board in North Wales. Their large acute hospital complex, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, opened in the late 1970s. Due to the presence of asbestos throughout the building, maintenance and upgrade work was increasingly unsustainable and in 2009 the decision was made to renovate the whole site.


No area was left untouched by the project - one of the biggest of its kind ever carried out in the UK - to remove a legacy of asbestos, complete refurbishment work and install new facilities. Thanks to careful planning and monitoring, the hospital was able to remain operational for the duration of the project, which was successfully completed at the beginning of 2019.
