The Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE) aims to provide a higher profile & focus for public health engineers within CIBSE and also within the building services industry.
The role of a public health engineer is to design systems for water supply & sanitation that help buildings work better for occupants, owners & the environment.
Public Health Engineers are perfectly positioned to address & help resolve water & energy related challenges.

The Society of Light & Lighting (SLL) welcomes anyone with an interest or expertise in any field of light and lighting. Building on over a century of history, the Society was originally founded as the Illuminating Engineering Society in 1909 with the aim of considering all applications of natural and artificial light. SLL recognises the expertise of the lighting community in tackling the challenges which face us all, considering the climate emergency, global political uncertainty, rapid technological change, significant societal shifts, and skills shortages. Throughout its history, SLL members have understood the value of sharing ideas, knowledge and networking.

The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) is the professional body that exists to :- support the science, art & practice of building services engineering, by providing members and the public with first class information & education services and promoting the spirit of fellowship which guides our work.
CIBSE promotes the career of building services engineering & works to attract the best young talent to join the profession. We achieve this through accrediting courses of study in further & higher education, by approving work based training programmes and providing routes to full professional Registration and Membership, including Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer & Engineering Technician.
CIBSE publishes Guidance and Codes which are internationally recognised as authoritative, & sets the criteria for best practice in the profession.
