Set to be the biggest event in its history, Healthcare Estates takes place on 9-10 October at Manchester Central, with an expected 220+ exhibitors and over 4,500 attendees, this year see’s the event focus on Fund, Design, Build, Manage & Maintain and each day will open with a Keynote presentation, with Simon Corben leading the charge on 9 October, followed by a panel discussion with key representatives from the healthcare sector.  Day 2’s Keynote presentation will follow the lead of one of IHEEM’s initiatives, in discussing women in engineering, and a new initiative to enhance diversity and equality in healthcare engineering, and the role of the apprentice.

NHS Improvement will also be delivering an hour-long session at Healthcare Estates, covering best practice the NHSI’s action themes now, and for the future. P22 and Architects for Health are also contributing conference sessions addressing the key NHSI themes.

Conference Streams

Within the three conference streams: Strategy & Leadership; Engineering and Facilities Management; plus Planning Design and Construction

The sessions are organised into hour-long modules, available to book individually by NHS staff.  Topics addressed in these modules are:  Strategy, Sustainability, Procurement, Treatment Technology, Heritage, Energy, Light in Healthcare Environments, Design for Efficient Operation, Funding, Regeneration and Planning, Design for Clinical Service, and Safety and the Built Environment.  Well Buildings will be covered in a session on biophilic design, and fire prevention and management will also feature in this year’s conference.  With more NHS Trusts represented on the speaker panel than ever before, Healthcare Estates is pre-eminent opportunity for Estates professionals to learn from their peers, share ideas and solutions, and network across the profession.  Registration is now open, with a special ‘early bird booking rate available until 3oth August.
