Following the announcement that the ‘live’ 2020 Healthcare Estates Exhibition, Conference, and Gala Awards Dinner have been deferred until 2021, there is a strong desire across the healthcare estates and facilities management community to have the opportunity to learn and share knowledge and experiences, especially in relation to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In direct response, IHEEM and Step Exhibitions are running a series of digital events under the banner of ‘Stay Connected. Keep Informed. Get Ahead’. These will take the form of live or pre-recorded webinars, which commence on June 30, and will run through to October, culminating in a week of digital content entitled ‘Healthcare Estates Online’.
Event director, Steve Webb, explained: “We will also be providing additional digital content ‘on demand’ on both the Healthcare Estates event channel and IHEEM website (www.iheem.org.uk).” Healthcare Estates Online is launched on 30 June 2020, and will run with fortnightly events, culminating in the Healthcare Estates Digital Week from 5-9 October. “As a professional working in the healthcare sector, particularly during this COVID-19 pandemic, you need to keep up to date with the numerous innovations happening right now,” added Steve Webb. “This series of webinars offers you the opportunity to ‘stay connected’ through our content, ‘keep informed’ about how innovation has played a major part in meeting the significant healthcare engineering and estates challenges raised by the global pandemic, and to ‘get ahead’ with knowledge sharing and CPD content.” The first round of webinars will be from the Healthcare Estates ‘exhibitor community’, who have faced and managed a wide range of demands and challenges throughout the pandemic. Bender launch the programme on 30 June with a webinar presented by Matthew Mears, National Healthcare Consultant, on ‘The Fundamentals of Secondary and Tertiary Electrical Infrastructure Power for Group 2 Medical Locations’, while the second webinar, on 14 July, will see Christopher Needham, Solutions Architect – Healthcare, at Schneider Electric, present on ‘Driving Efficiency in Hospitals: from Old to New.’ On 28 July, Adrian Hall, COO at Brandon Medical, will address the topic, ‘Smart Operating Theatres’, while in the fourth and final supplier webinar, on 11 August, SHJ Managing Director, Stafford Scopes, will present on some of the company’s innovative engineering work in the medical gas systems field. There will then follow a series of webinars outlining the challenges from a national perspective, including the rapid development of the Nightingale hospitals across the country. These will include presentations from NHS England and NHS Improvement, including from Simon Corben, Director & Head of Profession at NHS Estates & Facilities, and from ProCure22.
Steve Webb added: “You can also expect to hear from NHS Trusts on how they responded at a local level, as well as the IHEEM Technical Platforms, who will discuss the technical issues that needed to be considered across a number of engineering specialisms – including decontamination, ventilation, and medical gas management.” All of the digital content outlined above will be made available free of charge, and, where appropriate, will be CPD approved.
Anyone interested in taking part or submitting a webinar in the online event and make your presentation available via online pre-recorded webinar with the additional option to take part in a live Q&A session. We will provide the technical support you need to produce the webinar as well as ensuring slides and any supporting material is available online. All of the digital content, whether scheduled into the Healthcare Estates Online event or as additional on-demand material, will be extensively promoted across the IHEEM membership, both national and global through IFHE and IFHE-EU and of course to everyone associated with the Healthcare Estates event past and present. We will also supply you with email details and web banners to promote your webinar to your own network. For more details email email@example.com
Meanwhile plans for Healthcare Estates in 2021 are already taking place, Steve Webb, Event Director comments, “we’ve had a tremendous response from exhibitors to our plans, many were disappointed that the event had to be postponed, with the vast majority pledging their continued support into 2021. We have a number of exciting new initiatives for next year’s event, and will continue with our online activities to a rapidly expanding community”.
