Following a successful Healthcare Estates digital week, plans are now underway for the 2021 event with the ‘Call for Papers’ for the main conference and exhibition theatres.
We are now inviting submissions for the IHEEM Conference at Healthcare Estates 2021. The conference programme will encompass: Healthcare Provision in a Pandemic – Strategy & Leadership – Engineering & Facilities Management – Planning, Design and Construction – Innovation – Medical Engineering.
The deadline for entries is 2nd February 2021. Please also note that papers will be CPD Certified where appropriate. Please supply all details requested in the application form,
The Annual IHEEM Conference and Exhibition will take place on the 19th & 20th October at Manchester Central. The foremost event of its type in the UK, Healthcare Estates provides an essential opportunity for delegates to receive quality CPD and hear from leading industry figures within a concentrated 2-day period.
IHEEM has issued a “Call for Papers” and welcomes submissions from healthcare estates professionals in all disciplines. This is your opportunity to be involved in shaping the conference. To maximise the benefit to delegates, IHEEM is seeking submissions that fall under the following categories:

Planning, Design and Construction
The spread of COVID-19 in the UK, saw engineers and estates professionals in the NHS undertaking a vital role in what proved to be a rapidly changing and increasingly demanding environment. The Healthcare Estates conference will be in a unique position to look at how the NHS efm community worked tirelessly to keep patients and staff safe. What lessons were learned, what has changed since the pandemic and what plans are there for the future.
All communications regarding submissions will be handled by Step following assessment by the IHEEM Conference and Exhibition Committee and you will be contacted whether or not your proposal is accepted.
– All submissions and presentations must be in English
– All presentations should be submitted in the name of the person that is intending to present them.
– More than one presentation proposal may be submitted by any company or individual as separate applications
– Where possible commercial companies should have their submissions endorsed/supported by an NHS Trust
Papers should provide 3-5 Key Learning Points
All papers will require a 100-word biography of speaker(s) plus Head and shoulders portrait photograph of speaker(s)
The Healthcare Estates conference is a prestigious event, organised to provide a platform for the healthcare community, engineers, facilities managers, designers, technicians, researchers, managers, industrial participants and manufacturers to share their findings. All full paper submissions will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical and/or research depth, accuracy and relevance to conference theme and topics.
Healthcare Estates is a multi-disciplinary event, covering key sectors in healthcare that impact on the estate. The main conference is supported by a major exhibition that covers the following areas, each with free content to compliment the conference programme. Papers not included in the conference will be considered for the exhibition arena and theatres. Key sectors include:
