Healthcare Estates: “Where Innovation, Technology and Leadership Meet” – the strapline for 2019, encapsulates the event; a special year in which IHEEM hosts the International Federation of Healthcare Engineering (Europe), and over 4,000 estates professionals come together from around the world to exchange ideas and best practice, to network and do business, and to celebrate excellence in the sector.
With four conference streams; Strategy & Leadership, Innovation, Planning Design & Construction, and Engineering & Facilities Management, the conference covers a huge range of topics. The Call for Presentations has attracted submissions from around the world – as far afield as the USA, giving the event international scope for delegates. The Early Booking Rate for the conference ends on 30 June, keep an eye on the conference pages for confirmed speakers in the conference.
Theatres in the exhibition hall cover infection control and water, HVAC and engineering, Design and construction, fire and security, and facilities management, and complement the zones in which they are located in the exhibition – the exhibition theatres, as well as the exhibition, are free to attend.
We are very pleased that BRE, the Buildings Research Establishment, will be involved in Healthcare Estates this year, with experts presenting in exhibition theatre programmes, as well as the conference, discussing BIM, Standards, Smart Tools, Digitising Construction, and their new Mental Health Standard, which will be published in September. Delegates will also be eligible to sign up for a tour of the BRE facility (dates to be confirmed), including the new dementia house.
Healthcare Estates is set to grow in 2019 with more companies represented at the exhibition. Healthcare Estates is a truly unique event in the UK market – the only national conference and exhibition to bring together those who design, build manage and maintain healthcare facilities.
By exhibiting at Healthcare Estates you can meet specifiers and decision-makers responsible for controlling built environment budgets, talk directly to those “on the front line” about the problems and challenges they face and how your products and service can help address them, present and demonstrate your expertise to a highly targeted and motivated audience, gain valuable feedback and insights that can feed into your new product and business development processes while raising your profile in the healthcare sector.
Sponsored by Armitage Shanks and taking place at Manchester Central on 8-9 October, the conference theme in 2019 is “Where Innovation, Technology and Leadership Meet”, reflecting the lead the UK and NHS take in developing Patient care and the buildings used in the healthcare environment. The exhibition theatres will offer a wide range of technical content, with 7 separate theatres planned for the 2019 event:
Hospital Engineering Theatre, supported by the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estates Management (IHEEM) ; Water Theatre; Infection Control Theatre (new for 2018), both sponsored by Delabie and supported by the Water Management Society (WMSoc) and Legionella Control Association (LCA); Apprentices Today Leaders Tomorrow Theatre, sponsored by Troup Bywaters+Anders; Design in Construction Theatre, supported by Architects for Health (AfH), Procure 22, and the Design in Mental Health Network (DMHN); the Energy and Sustainability Theatre, supported by the Carbon and Energy Fund (CEF); the Facilities Management Theatre, supported by the Health Estates and Facilities Management Association (HefmA); and the new Fire and Security Theatre, supported by the Fire Protection Association (FPA) and the National Association of Healthcare Fire Offices (NAHFO).
Each theatre is located in a specific “zone” on the exhibition floor, enabling visitors and delegates to plan their visit to best effect for both networking and learning. CPD certification is available from IHEEM for both the conference, and theatre content at Healthcare Estates.
The VIP meeting area is once again sponsored by Wandsworth Healthcare and enables Healthcare Estates VIPs; NHS professionals, exhibitors, delegates and IHEEM members to meet and network with free refreshments, within the exhibition.
The IHEEM Dinner and awards is always eagerly anticipated, and this year will be no exception.
