‘The most interesting expo I have been to this year….’

Healthcare Estates continues to grow and announces theme for 2014

Healthcare Estates exhibition, conference and dinner received plaudits from delegates, visitors and exhibitors alike.

‘very informative, good atmosphere’ – Estates & Facilities Director, NHS Trust

The 2013 event proved an unqualified success. More visitors filled the isles, delegates to the conference grew year on year and the IHEEM dinner was a sell-out.

Not surprisingly the organisers, Step Exhibitions have announced a record level of bookings for the next event in 2014. Steve Webb, Show Director said; ‘Feedback on the event and a response to a number of the changes we made has been extremely encouraging. With increased content and more exhibitors (190 exhibitors, up from 170 the previous year), we hoped for an increase in visitors and delegates, and that’s precisely what we got.’

The overall attendance over the two days rose to 2,918. With a mix of visitors to the exhibition, exhibitor guests, staff and healthcare delegates attending the two day conference, Healthcare Estates took over the Manchester Central venue for two days in October.  Presentations, displays, new product launches, networking, updates on government policy, advice, catching up with colleagues, all helped make the 2013 event a great success.

Next year the organisers, Step Exhibitions, aim to build on this. Healthcare Estates 2014 takes place on the 7th and 8th October at Manchester Central (GMEX), and incorporates a major exhibition with sector focussed theatres providing free content to visitors, run in conjunction with the IHEEM conference and prestigious black tie dinner.

Healthcare Estates 2014 gives visitors the opportunity to meet with key companies supplying the sector including Aid Call, Bender UK, BOC Healthcare, Britplas, Cistermiser, Courtney Thorne, Delabie, Gleeds, Horne Engineering, Kemper, Lorne Stewart, Pall Life Sciences, Polar (NE) Ltd., Primera, Procure 21+, Reliance Water Controls, SAACKE Combustion Services, Sabien Technology, Shire Controls, Static Systems, Spirax Sarco, Taurus Fitted Bedrooms, Thorlux Lighting, Trend Control Systems, Wandsworth Group and Yewdale.

Steve Webb, Show Director said: “we have recently agreed with IHEEM and Manchester Central that Healthcare Estates will continue to be held in Manchester. Since moving to the City in 2010 we have developed the event and exhibitors, visitors and delegates like the close proximity of hotels and restaurants to the venue.

Being just 2 hours,10 minutes by train from Euston and within easy reach of many healthcare establishments, Manchester makes a great location with everything on the door step and an extension of the event in the evenings.

2013 Attendees were enthusiastic about the event and the VIP scheme which the organisers ran for the second year for key NHS employees and IHEEM healthcare members. The scheme covered the costs of parking on site and providing a dedicated VIP area for meetings and networking. One VIP commented: ‘It was an excellent addition’ while another said: ‘Great area for coffee and networking and to keep costs down free parking was fantastic’.

Healthcare Estates provides visitors an opportunity to look at the new ideas available to them, examples of success stories from other trusts and qualified advisers to explain what changes can be made to help directors and managers run their trusts and manage their budgets.

The 2014 marketing campaign will have a new look and feel which will also be reflected in the web site and e-marketing. ‘We will promote a number of reasons to attend the event with Healthcare Estates branded as ‘a destination’ and encouraging visitors and delegates to ‘focus on quality in the workplace, patient environment and buildings we run’. Steve Webb, Show Director commented: “Quality transcends policies and procedures. It comes from within us – all of us. It’s both a destination, and a starting point. And though we can’t always define quality, we know it when we see it. Let’s look for it together – and be the best we can be.”
