1. Brief History of Investment in Leicester

a. 2000 – 2007 Failed PFI
b. 2010 – New neonatal Unit
c. 2017 – Vascular surgery moves sites
d. 2017 – 2018 New ED & Emergency Floor
e. 2016 – 2018 The STP identifies capital funding required across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

2. The overarching acute clinical and estates strategy:

a. The move from 3 to 2 acute sites
b. The challenge around size ( the reality of care closer to home)

a. Access to capital is dependent on a system wide, affordable Sustainability & Transformation Plan
