Biography

Annie Shepperd is a business leader with more than 25 years’ experience leading and transforming businesses across private, public and non-for-profit sectors.

Annie is currently chief executive of Salix Finance, which she has been leading since 2012. She is responsible for the performance of the organisation working closely with its core funders – the UK, Scottish and Welsh governments – to help public sector organisations cut their carbon emissions and become more energy efficient. This saves millions from energy bills and is enabling the UK to reach it net zero goal by 2050.

In 2020, under Annie’s leadership, Salix Finance took on the delivery of the multi-billion pound Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme radically transforming the organisation and also the public sector organisations it supports.

Annie was awarded an Officer of the British Empire award (OBE) in 2017 for her significant contribution to energy efficiency and to child protection over her career.

Prior to this Annie spent 25 years in multiple leadership roles across public sector organisations, including chief executive of Southwark and Walsall councils and director of social services at Liverpool and Bath councils.

Annie was a trustee of The Lucy Faithfull Foundation for seven years and supports other voluntary organisations.
