Biography

Chetan’s career has evolved over time to where it is today, though the core focus has remained around data and analytics. Upon graduating with a master’s degree in Chemistry, Chetan spent 4 years within the pharmaceutical industry, where he worked as part of the Drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics team conducting research studies.

He joined the NHS graduate scheme finance programme in 2007, where he went on to qualify as an accountant. Chetan spent 5 years at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as the Finance Analyst within the corporate and estates & facilities function. This is where he gained his knowledge and understanding of estates & facilities management within the NHS estate as well as first-hand experience of the ERIC return.

A spell at Kingston Hospital as the Deputy Head of Finance for a number of clinical functions was followed by a 2 year spell in consultancy. Here Chetan was involved with the financial modelling for business cases and worked on projects ranging from £5m to £20m for NHS clients. During his time here Chetan became more involved in benchmarking using ERIC data, developing a similar analytical output to the model hospital.

Chetan joined his current role at NHS Improvement in June 2017 as the data lead for the estates & facilities function within the productivity division. Hi team play an integral lead in refining ERIC to solve future strategic questions and developing the estates and facilities offering from the model hospital; in order to help trust self-serve.
