Biography

Eamonn is a healthcare IT leader and transformational Nursing Informaticist with over 20 years of dedicated service within the NHS. Currently Head of Clinical Informatics for the New Hospital Programme at NHS England, he has extensive experience in the integration of digital technology and informatics into healthcare settings. As part of the New Hospital Programme his current work is focused on creating intelligent hospitals that combine innovation, sustainability, with a focus on high-quality patient care.

With a strong background in both nursing and IT, Eamonn has a unique perspective on how digital advancements can be harnessed to improve healthcare outcomes for patients, families, and staff. His extensive experience includes both senior clinical and digital roles having previously been a clinical Matron in a busy intensive care unit, and immediately prior to joining the programme was Deputy Director of Digital at Royal Papworth Hospital, where he led significant IT initiatives and was a key figure in the integration of nursing informatics into the broader healthcare strategy.
