Biography

Erica started her career as a nurse in learning disabilities followed by a variety of senior clinical and managerial posts over her 40 years’ service in the NHS. She has a breadth of experience of working across health and social care and with other public sector partners, with a particular focus in recent years on commissioning integrated services across Hull. Prior to being appointed NHS Place Director, Erica held the position of Interim Chief Operating Officer for NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group.

Paul is a Director of Medical Architecture, and a highly skilled healthcare designer with over 17 years’ specialised experience. He brings an approach to design that values improved clinical outcomes and enhances the human experience of care. In 2022, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts for his leadership in healthcare design. He has led the design of multiple award-winning buildings, including, Hopewood Park Hospital in Sunderland, and Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre in Hull. Paul’s project portfolio has received awards from RIBA, Building Better Healthcare, Design in Mental Health, and International Academy for Design & Health.
