Mark Hogan

Energy & Environmental Manager, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust

Mark has been the Energy and Environmental Manager for Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust since 2008. Over the past few years Mark and his team have utilised over £2.6 million of Salix’s 100% interest-free funding to complete six energy reduction projects across the Trust. These projects include investing in FLU-ACE condensing heat recovery systems at three sites, refurbishing plant rooms, replacing steam calorifiers with plate heat exchangers and installing a combined heat and power unit (CHP) at Leigh Infirmary.

With support from Salix, Mark intends to introduce further energy saving measures across the Trust. Following the success of the CHP unit at Leigh Infirmary, investment in CHP units at Wrightington Hospital and Royal Albert Edward Infirmary are two projects that are in early development.
