Biography

Nigel Keery OBE is Head of Estates Operations in the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, with over 30 years Estates Healthcare Management experience.

Started work as an apprentice in Harland and Wolff ship builders before starting in the health service.

Has contributed and Co authored several health service guidance documents as an authorised person and started the Northern Ireland Estates Graduate Program.

Devised and developed the Northern Ireland IHEEM conference.  Restarted the Ireland branch after a period of non activity.

Academically achieving a Bachelor of Engineering Honours in Building Services at Ulster University

HNC’s in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering at both Belfast and Lisburn colleges of further education.

Professionally, A European and Chartered Engineer, a member of federation of European engineers, a member of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and a Fellow of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estates management. Serving on several committees, as a director, trustee and vice president.

Was awarded an OBE in the Queens Birthday Honours in 2022 for services to Public Health.
