Biography

Phil joined Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service in 1993 and worked in a number of operational firefighting roles across the service prior to working within the Fire Safety Department. Phil completed a B Eng Hons Degree in Fire Engineering in 2003 at University of Central Lancashire and was promoted to Head Fire Safety. Phil has represented the North East Region on a number of NFCC working groups and was promoted to  Area Manager in 2016. Since then Phil has held a number of AM posts across Tyne and Wear and prior to being seconded to NFCC in 2022. Since June 2022, Phil has performed the role of Emerging Energy Technology Lead for NFCC and his work spans across the full remit of Prevention, Protection and Response as well as supporting Industry and numerous Government Departments.
